Tell me a little bit about your venue!
Welcome to The Grand Halle on Broad Street! We are a special events venue in the heart of the Cambria City neighborhood in Johnstown. Formerly known as the Immaculate Conception church, our transformed space serves our region as a premier venue for weddings, cultural events, social gatherings, and concerts.
The Grand Halle is a versatile venue that can host a ceremony, reception, or both, all in one place. We can accommodate up to 250 guests for a sit-down reception, and we take the time to work with you to incorporate your design ideas in a flexible manner. In fact, our previous couples incorporated all sorts of designs and ideas, from hanging swags from our balcony and chandeliers to hosting a puppy adoption area during the cocktail hour.
The Grand Halle is owned by 1901 Church Inc, a 501(c)(3) corporation, which sponsors The Steeples Project. Our mission is to transform historic, former ethnic church buildings into dynamic venues within the Cambria City Cultural District of Johnstown, PA.
What makes your space unique?
The Grand Halle is a century-old picturesque and historical venue with gorgeous Victorian Gothic decor and radiant stained glass. It has a fully functional and richly resonant Adam Stein pipe organ that can be utilized for your ceremony. Additionally, our accommodating staff and wide network of vendors and caterers are available to help craft your wedding day exactly the way you want. We take the time to work with you and include pre-event meetings and staffing for set-up, during the event, and clean-up as part of our rental rate.
We’ve hosted receptions with winter, steampunk, Victorian, and Disney themes. Additionally, we’ve hosted bar services, photo booths, cloud effects, cold sparks, music performances for ceremonies and cocktail hours, hot chocolate bars, nacho bars, and ice cream bars. Best of all, the Halle and our professional services are available at an affordable price.
What is your ideal client like?
At The Grand Halle, it’s your wedding, your way. Many of our clients like to maintain some control over their special day rather than turn it over to someone else. Whether you want to incorporate Western Pennsylvanian wedding traditions such as cookie tables and the bridal dance or feature something new and unique to you, we’ll work with you and answer your questions every step of the way.
We welcome couples and guests regardless of age, religion, creed, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, color, disability, national origin, marital status, or military status. Handicap parking arrangements are available, and the Halle is ADA-compliant.
