The Garden Room is the National Aviary’s stunning, LEED Gold Certified event space. Enjoy the feeling of an outdoor soiree with all the comforts of an indoor space, beautifully crafted out of brick, stone, and glass featuring a bird-safe pattern. The Garden Room has large retractable windows, plenty of natural light, and gives off an open-air feel. This means that no matter what the weather might bring on your big day, we’ve got you covered while keeping the look of an outside occasion.
Choose from one of three gorgeous ceremony locations, including The Garden Room, the historic Rose Garden, or, for those with smaller groups, inside the Tropical Rainforest habitat!

Bird is the word, and you can make your wedding stand out in your guests’ memory with a self-guided tour of enchanting immersive habitats during cocktail hour. This gives your guests a memorial experience while offering up exceptional photo opportunities.
Keep that energy going by wowing your guests with up to two Avian Encounters, where they can get close to and learn about a penguin, parrot, or bird of prey!
What makes your space unique?
Our Northside location inside of Pittsburgh’s oldest park, Allegheny Commons, as well as the opening of The Garden Room’s bird-safe glass wall into the historic Rose Garden, both of which offer a picturesque backdrop. The room is bookended by two gorgeous stone fireplaces, and can take on whatever vibe you aspire for your special occasion.
