Tell us a little bit about your venue.
Located in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, Franklin on Penn was originally built in the early 1900s as Franklin Savings and Trust Company, and has been renovated to become one of Pittsburgh’s newest wedding and event venues.
At Franklin on Penn, we aim to be an inclusive home for love and community in Pittsburgh. As a queer-owned and woman-owned space, our mission is simple: to provide a safe, welcoming space for weddings and events where everyone feels celebrated and respected.
What makes your space unique?
Our unique, multipurpose venue stands out among other locations in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region for a multitude of reasons. The structure and ownership in and of itself is unique in that it is owned and run by a group of wedding planners who have been in the wedding industry for over 13 years. We bring our expertise of the industry to the event space.
Upon entering the venue, your guests will be welcomed to the main event space where no detail goes untouched. The natural light pours in, making the entire space feel alluring, energizing, and lively. It’s easy to envision getting married and celebrating with your most favorite people. The original columns surround the newly installed custom black and white dance floor where your guests will dance the night away. Modern chandeliers installed overhead provide the perfect mood lighting for the evening.
The built-in bar is on the main level and is in the space that used to be the original vault of the bank. The mezzanine level provides a perfect space for cocktail hour or people watching throughout the evening. It almost feels as if when you are seated up there, you are a VIP enjoying the party with a front row seat. The space is truly masterfully and thoughtfully constructed with you and your guests in mind to ensure the best possible experience.

Our ideal clientele appreciates the building’s historic character while embracing its modern amenities, finding excitement in the harmony between the two.
