Tell me a little bit about your business!
Your Big Day was officially founded in 2014 and was started as a one woman show. Since that time, I have planned and coordinated 102 weddings, 13 bridal shows and two philanthropy events. I started my company with only $20 to invest and spent many late nights researching how to independently launch and operate my business. I have grown my company slowly with patience and perseverance and have learned so much along the way. I have also added two wonderful team members and have tweaked my brand and business to become the company I am the proud owner of today.
What makes your work unique?
What makes Your Big Day unique is that our brand is not just about what we do; it’s more about who we are. We take pride in the fact that we treat every family as if they were our own, and we embrace any opportunity to make our client’s day more comfortable and stress free. Above and beyond our contracted duties, we connect with our clients on a personal level and therefore are able to manage the day, details, and dynamic with respect and decorum. We rely on our extensive experience and knowledge to allow us to spend more time on the things that really matter, while never losing sight of the details.
What is your ideal client like?
Our ideal client is one that is grounded in family and tradition. We love a client who takes pride in incorporating personal, meaningful touches into their special day. We appreciate when it is the bride’s grandmother who lovingly made the cookies, or the groom’s favorite aunt who assembled 200 wedding favors, or even when the centerpieces or other design elements reflect the relationship between the couple. Do we love the details? Yes! But what we enjoy more is when our couples put their heart into the planning and execution of their special day. We feel blessed to be a part of it.
How do you work with couples to bring their wedding dreams to life?
All of our clients begin with Day Of Coordination and then are offered the flexibility of customizing their package with various A La Carte services. Our clients love the ability to control their budget and see the breakdown of which services they require. Most people are surprised to learn that even our Day of Coordination clients receive unlimited correspondence via phone and email. We find that open lines of communication not only allow us to connect with our clients on a personal level, but it increases their comfort level and confidence and provides us the opportunity to help them avoid common wedding planning mistakes. We convey to all of our clients that we are not hired to “reinvent the wheel” but we are an advocate for their overall vision and will help them execute the day accordingly. We offer our advice and guidance when solicited and if and when we see fit. But overall, we want our clients to know that we support their wedding day dreams, and will help to make them a reality.
