Tell me a little bit about your business!
Written By Nikki Calligraphy started after my own wedding in 2018. Always loving art as a child, I knew growing up that it would somehow be a part of my life – I was just unsure how. Planning my own wedding opened up my eyes into the wedding industry and all that could be needed in terms of signage and creative design. It was there that I started to research: finding the trends, seeing what was for sale online, and understanding the everyday bride.
After my wedding, I started posting photos online of pieces that I had created. I started to quickly get a response, which slowly turned into me creating pieces for a friend of mine or a friend of a friend. In that time, I realized how exciting it was to create something that would be used on the biggest day of a bride’s life. It was magical. Being a self-taught calligrapher, I never expected my business to grow as quickly as it has, but I am truly working to make this my full-time career.
While my business started solely with wooden signs, I now offer a variety of items for my clients! Acrylic signs, chalkboards, envelopes, escort cards, seating charts, menus, doormats, and bar menus are just pieces of the puzzle that make up Written By Nikki Calligraphy! I absolutely love creating pieces, while meeting new people and making memories that will last a lifetime.
What makes your work unique?
My work is solely a celebration and representation of one of the biggest days of your life: your wedding day. I have the natural eye to understand what will look best on clients’ designs and am able to turn someone’s vision into a reality within weeks. I have a quick turn-around time and communicate with my clients throughout the entire process. At the end of the day, I want whatever you order to be better than expected. I want the pieces to complement your wedding in a way where guests notice the time and effort you put in to plan your special day. I genuinely get so excited to see photos of your wedding because I have gotten to know you, your style, your love story, and in some way, I am lucky enough to be a part of your fairytale.
What is your ideal client like?
Kind, excited, honest, and trustworthy! They are someone who wants to represent their style and taste in every aspect of their wedding day. Whether it’s bright and full of details or simple with a classic touch, I want clients to choose what feels right to them! The ideal client speaks with clarity to tell me all of their thoughts and feelings, even if it takes several consultations before design. I want to make sure that no matter what, they are obsessed with the outcome of what they have ordered. I am so grateful to be trusted by my clients to turn their ideas into a product and want to celebrate you, always!
How do you work with couples to bring their wedding paper dreams to life?
The best way to reach me is through my Order tab on my website. Once I receive your inquiry, I will send over a longer email with a questionnaire to give me more information about what you are interested in and who you are as a couple. From there, I will give you product details, item quotes, and start the process of creating!
Along the way, I will send you emails with updates, photos, and videos, and check in to make sure that I have fully understood every aspect of what you are looking for. My process is quick and stress-free and offers you a chance to relax while I turn your vision into a reality!
