Tell us a little bit about your business.
Hey! I’m Carly, the owner and lead photographer of Wild North Weddings. I’ve been documenting weddings for 11 years – from Hawaii all the way to Tanzania – with an expertise in photographing and helping couples plan intimate destination weddings. Whether it’s on the sandy coastline of an island, at a 14k ft-elevation, or by the Three Rivers here in Pittsburgh, I love sharing the story of every wedding day I’m a part of.
Packages and pricing can be found on my website for both local weddings and destination elopements/micro-weddings. Elopements are all-inclusive of travel and also include planning guidance.
What makes your work unique?
My work is about storytelling. It’s not about providing content for social media (that’s just an added bonus), but about your wedding gallery telling the full story about your wedding day – every beautiful, imperfect, emotional, and even a little messy moment. You’ll look back on your gallery and remember moments you loved, see them from a different perspective, and even see moments you maybe weren’t present for. Additionally, I want your photos to truly reflect your personalities and relationships with the people around you. I work hard to present people with small moments where they can connect with each other, show their true selves, and bear genuine smiles.
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal clients are couples who want to be fully present with the person that they’re marrying on their wedding day. They love sharing new adventures together, want their wedding day to be a unique experience, and value vendors that they can put their full trust in. They also have laid-back personalities with a great sense of humor, which means we’ll have plenty of fun and laughs throughout their time behind the camera.
What is your approach to photography?
I want you to love your photos forever, and although we’ll get the necessary photos of you smiling at the camera with family and friends, the majority of my work is focused on documenting the day in all of its realness. Speaking of realness, I want your photos to look like your wedding day, so your gallery will have the vibrant, true colors of the environment you were married in with some black and whites sprinkled in for a little romance, emotion, and drama.
