Tell us a little bit about your business.
Hi, We’re Nas and Derris! thewildroses co. really grew out of our love for photographs that feel like memories. I’ve always been drawn to old family photos, film, and images that aren’t necessarily perfect but make you feel something. That has shaped so much of how we photograph weddings today. We are focused on capturing weddings in a way that feels honest, timeless, and deeply personal. We blend digital photography with nostalgic mediums like Super 8 film to create imagery that feels elevated without losing the realness of the day. Our goal is for couples to look back at their photos and films years from now and remember not only what their wedding looked like, but what it felt like!
We genuinely love what we do and never take for granted that we’re invited into such an important day in someone’s life. Weddings go by incredibly fast, and so many of the smallest moments can easily be forgotten. Being able to preserve those memories for our couples, and create something they’ll one day share with their families, is what makes this work so meaningful to us. We want our couples to enjoy their day, be themselves, and know that we’ll be there to capture the rest!
What makes your work unique?
Our work is rooted in storytelling with a cinematic, timeless feel. We’re drawn to genuine emotion, beautiful light, movement, and the moments that happen when no one thinks they’re being photographed. We also incorporate film and Super 8, bringing a nostalgic quality to our work that feels reminiscent of old home movies and family photographs. Rather than following trends, we want to create photographs and films that will still feel beautiful and meaningful years from now.
What is your ideal client like?
Our ideal clients are couples who value beautiful, meaningful photography and want their wedding day captured in a way that feels true to them. They appreciate a balance of natural moments and thoughtfully guided portraits, and trust us to tell their story with care. They’re drawn to imagery that feels romantic, cinematic, nostalgic, timeless, and above all, they want photographs that bring them right back to how their day felt.
What is your approach to photography?
We approach every wedding with the intention of preserving it as it genuinely felt. Rather than trying to create every moment, we pay attention to what’s already happening: the people, the emotions, the movement, and all of the little interactions that make each wedding different. We’ll step in with guidance when it’s helpful, but we also know when to simply let a moment unfold. Our style is cinematic and timeless, with an emphasis on honest storytelling and photographs that feel full of life. Ultimately, we want you to look back at your gallery years from now and remember not just how everything looked, but exactly how it felt to be there.
