Paul Cosentino’s Boilermaker Jazz Band performs the best in swing era jazz and Great American Songbook. We’re a full time professional band and have played at every major venue in the Pittsburgh region and have toured coast to coast and world wide. The band features the best instrumentalists and vocalists in the genre. We can adjust the size and instrumentation of the ensemble to suit any size event and budget, and can adjust for cocktail and dinner hour, first dances, and swing dancing all night long!
If you want the best in swing music and American Songbook, to set the classic retro tone for your reception, Paul Cosentino’s Boilermaker Jazz Band is for you! We are also happy to play for just cocktail and dinner hour and any portion of the reception. We provide sound that you can use to play your own playlist at any point in the reception, or turn it over later in the evening to a DJ.
What makes your work unique?
We specialize in swing era jazz and American Songbook, and have one of the largest repertoire’s of any band playing in that style.
What is your ideal client like?
Someone who is interested in classic, retro style!
How do you get to know a couple’s taste in music?
I generally get the basic info through email, but a direct phone call is always best to talk through musical choices.
How do you motivate guests to get on the dance floor?
Swing music is meant for dancing – and we vary the tempos to make sure that everyone feels comfortable. We can also provide swing dancing instructors for a short lesson before the band plays.
How would you describe your emcee style?
As with every other aspect of our presentation, my emcee style is classic of the era.
