Tell me a little bit about your business!
Five years ago, I told my wife I was going to buy a camera and photograph weddings for a living. I found a couple of great mentors, started building a portfolio, and by my second year was photographing weddings regularly. In early 2020, I was able to quit my full-time corporate graphic design gig. Life moves pretty fast sometimes.
Hi, Mike of Mike Christ Photography here! And I love making art with my clients and having a blast doing so. Simple as that.
What makes your work unique?
The energy. I bring a lot of it to our sessions. The dancing, the big laughs, the popping of bottles, I feel like it comes out in my work. I love to connect with my couples and make our sessions super fun. I take the art seriously but the process is loose.
What is your ideal client like?
I love working with couples who are not afraid to take the ride with me. Let’s see where this creative acid trip goes. Some of my clients love the camera while many consider themselves awkward. I want it all. I want the selfie queen and the camera-shy.
But most importantly, I just want to work with good people who really like each other.
What is your approach to photography?
Ninety percent of my job is making sure you and your significant other feel comfortable. I set out to build a rapport during our initial phone/video call. By the time our session rolls around, we will have lots to talk about, and I will tell plenty of terrible jokes.
Behind the scenes, I love to meticulously scout and plan our photo sessions, though I always leave room for inspiration to get in the way. I use some really fun and easy pose prompts to get us started. But more importantly, I’ll get you guys laughing. Pro Tip: big laughs = killer photos. I’ll show you the photos along the way to encourage and get you excited about the magic we are making together.
I’m getting excited thinking of you reading this right now! Click on my name up there and let’s discuss your wedding vision!
