Tell us a little bit about your business.
Micah Made Cookies is a woman and mom-owned custom bakery based in Allison Park, serving the greater Pittsburgh area with nut- and legume-free royal icing sugar cookies. I create cookies for special events and corporate orders, and I also teach decorating classes! Recognized in 2021 and 2022 for having the “Best Sugar Cookie in Pittsburgh,” my bakery is a local favorite that will provide a unique and delicious favor to your wedding shower, wedding place card, or cookie table must-have! Micah Made Cookies is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
I love love of ALL kinds and I also love to work with you to create something special for your big day – whether it’s a bridesmaid proposal, wedding shower favor, name card for the reception, thank you gifts for the vendors, or even a bar snack with a picture of your furry friend included. The options are limitless!
What makes your work unique?
What sets my business apart from other sugar cookie bakers and decorators are the designs (for sure!), but mostly the texture and flavor of my sugar cookies. Your occasion isn’t boring, so your cookies shouldn’t be either. All of my cookies have a light vanilla citrus flavor to them that uses fresh lemons, oranges, and homemade vanilla. Sugar cookies shouldn’t break your teeth and should definitely be worth the calories, and my business strives to reach that expectation.
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal client is someone who is looking for a truly luxurious cookie and not just someone baking them on the cheap down the street. I know I’m not the lowest-priced, but I will work harder than any other baker crafting all of the florals, hand-paintings, and details that make your cookies perfect for YOUR day.
How do you work with couples to bring their dessert dreams to life?
If couples have a particular vision for their cookies, I have them send inspo pictures or sketches to me along with their desired color palette(s) at the start of the ordering process. I make sure that they know I won’t copy another artist’s work, but I know that some brides and grooms know EXACTLY what they want, so I work as closely to those images as possible. And sometimes I have a client that has no idea what they want and they give me some wiggle room and I design a whole original set for them (for the same price). Every couple is unique and so is their vision, so I make sure to honor that as best as I can.
