Tell us a little bit about your business.
Being in the wedding photography sphere for 10+ years, I’ve really been able to refine Lindsey Zern Photography to encompass what I believe to be the most important aspects of hiring a wedding photographer. The first is open and collaborative communication between the couple and their photographer, and the second being having fun during the process of planning for and taking photos on your wedding day. I’m all about going into the day with a plan, and having a good time is going to be high on the priority list.
What makes your work unique?
Fads come and go, but your wedding photos are forever. I believe photos should feel timeless and the editing and posing should reflect that. I incorporate a lot of movement and interaction between people in photographs so that we can showcase the love and unique relationship you have. When editing, I stay true to color with an emphasis on getting skin tones just right.
What is your ideal client like?
The ideal client for LZP is trusting and collaborative. I want you to absolutely love your wedding photos, and I believe the best way to do that is to have open and trusting communication throughout the planning process. That way on your wedding day, photos go off without a hitch because we have built a relationship on trust and a common goal. My couples are dear friends to me, and having that relationship lets photos be fun, spontaneous, and true to them.
What is your approach to photography?
My goal is always to take artistic and emotional photos that really capture the feeling behind what is happening in front of my lens. I know when to step in and direct as well as when to back off and let a moment just happen. I believe the very best photos are taken when the photographer takes the time to notice even the little details that are going on around them. Moments that you may have not even remembered can be memorialized forever by a photographer who has mastered the art of noticing.
