Tell me a little bit about your business!
Jorge Santiago Photography specializes in documentary wedding photography, aiming to capture moments rather than poses. I focus on what makes each couple and wedding distinct and I use my photography to tell their story. My photos are dynamic, active, emotional, and personal.
What makes your work unique?
I see each wedding as a story and I aim to capture its most vivid moments and details. I specialize in Indian weddings, and am very familiar with the particular customs and traditions of these events. I have many international clients and I love highlighting the colorful, vibrant, specific traditions that they incorporate in their weddings.
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal client simply loves art and beautiful photography!
What is your approach to photography?
I take a documentary approach, which means I aim to capture moments rather than poses. I have a background as a documentary photographer, shooting work for The New York Times, Harper’s, Viceland, and other media outlets, and I bring this experience and eye to my weddings. I also have extensive experience as a fine art photographer, running the darkroom of a photography museum, so I have careful attention to detail and to form. The combination of these two worlds – documentary and fine art – informs my photos.
