Jorge Santiago is a Pittsburgh wedding photographer specializing in documenting multicultural celebrations. My work celebrates the beauty of diversity, love, family, and community. I use my experience as a documentary photographer to tell the story of your wedding in a creative, emotional, and intimate way.
What makes your work unique?
My work as a photographer is influenced by traditional photo reportage and enriched with my experience photographing long-term arts projects. I have worked as a photojournalist for magazines and newspapers, and won national and local arts fellowships. I bring these lenses to your wedding day to capture your unique story and traditions, producing one-of-a-kind heirloom-quality work.
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal client is creative and curious, ready to celebrate their unique story and tradition. They trust me to get them amazing images while they can focus on living their extraordinary day.
What is your approach to photography?
I take a documentary approach, which means aiming to capture the story as it unfolds and also using tools from other photography genres, like portraiture, architecture, and landscape to tell a richer tale. I have a background as a photojournalist and I bring this experience and eye to my work as a wedding photographer in Pittsburgh. I also have extensive experience as a fine art photographer, running the darkroom of a photography museum, so I have careful attention to detail and form. The combination of these two worlds – documentary and fine art – shapes my photography.
