Tell me a little bit about your business!
Even though I have a photography degree from Penn State, I started my business as a side hustle. Sessions were mostly for family and friends, until a trusting coworker asked if I would shoot her wedding. I was instantly hooked (and not just on the cookie table)! Before long, I was quitting my desk job to be CEO of Jeannine Bonadio Photography.
What makes your work unique?
I think what makes my work unique is my clients! No wedding is the same and that is what I love about photographing weddings. I am there to tell their individual love story. I am truly honored to capture all of the emotion, hard work, and tradition that goes into their big day.
It’s all about connection and I highly encourage meeting before deciding if I am the right fit. I want my clients to feel comfortable and excited to have me join them on the big day.
What is your ideal client like?
I’ll be honest – this is a tough question! For me, an ideal client isn’t what venue they chose or if their color scheme matches my Instagram grid. Your wedding is NOT about me. I would hope my clients picked me because they connected with me, trust my experience, and appreciate the way I capture a wedding day. I love working with any couple that is in love. I am excited to celebrate that love wherever and however they imagine tying the knot. Big, small, church, outdoors, summer, or fall. I think a lot of my clients are excited about the wedding day but are even more excited about the adventure of marriage.
What is your approach to photography?
I think any good vendor is there to serve the couple the best they possibly can. So first and foremost, I am there to give 110% to my couple. My style is timeless, classic, and bright. It might be colorful (if your wedding is) or it could be airy (if your colors are muted). I don’t want to over-edit your day. I believe you should look back at your images and see the joy and love of the day, not a filter or trend. I provide a Wedding Guide to each of my couples so they can get the most out of my services. Photography is more than just picking up the camera and shooting. I believe educating my couples on how I work a wedding day is so important! I connect with all of my couples multiple times before the wedding and we have spent time together at their engagement session. By the wedding day, we are so comfortable with each other and that’s when the magic happens.
