Tell us a little bit about your business.
Half Light Events is an event planning and design studio based in Pittsburgh. We specialize in immersive, artful celebrations – from weddings and milestone birthdays to bespoke social gatherings. Half Light is where bold design meets seamless execution.
Our signature style blends timeless elegance with modern creativity, crafting atmospheres that are both elevated and deeply personal, ensuring every event feels intentional, expressive, and joyfully memorable.
At our core, we believe events should tell a story. Each moment is designed with purpose, reflecting our clients’ unique vision. Whether it’s a multi-day Indian fusion wedding, a themed milestone party, or an intimate celebration, we strive to make every experience effortless and extraordinary.
As both a planner and a physician, I bring a unique lens to this work – balancing creativity with calm, structure with empathy. I’m here to listen first, guide with care, and design a celebration that reflects not just your style, but your story.
If you’re looking for a planner who will advocate for your vision, obsess over the details, and create something that feels like you (but elevated), I’d be honored to be part of your day.
What makes your work unique?
I started Half Light Events because I believe celebrations should feel like you and not like something pulled from a template. What makes our work different is how deeply we care about getting to the heart of your story and translating that into a meaningful, beautiful experience for your guests.
We’re not just here to make things look good (though we love that part too!). We’re here to create moments that feel good, where every detail is intentional, the energy is just right, and your guests walk away saying, “That was so them.”
Our events are known for being stylish, creative, and full of thoughtful surprises – but more than anything, they’re personal. Your vision is our vision.
What is your ideal client like?
Our ideal wedding client wants a celebration that’s as personal as it is polished. They’re design-driven but not trend-obsessed. They’re drawn to aesthetics that feel timeless, expressive, and entirely their own. They care about the mood, the flow, the guest experience, and most of all, they trust us to bring intention and creativity to every detail.
Many of our couples are South Asian or multicultural, blending traditions, aesthetics, and families in meaningful ways. They come to us for our ability to honor that nuance while creating something fresh and elevated, whether it’s a multi-day celebration or an intimate ceremony with layered significance.
They might be planning from afar, navigating multiple cultural expectations, or simply looking for something that hasn’t been done a hundred times before. They’re excited to collaborate, open to bold ideas, and value a process that’s thoughtful, organized, and grounded in trust.
At the end of the day, they want more than a beautiful wedding. They want an unforgettable experience that feels effortless, emotionally resonant, and true to who they are.
(Bonus points if they want a planner who will quote The Office with them in most conversations throughout the planning process!)
How do you work with couples to bring their wedding dreams to life?
My approach always begins with listening. It’s the same philosophy I bring to my work as a geriatrician – taking the time to understand someone’s story, their values, and what truly matters to them. Planning a wedding is deeply personal, and I believe that meaningful celebrations start with a strong foundation of trust and connection.
When I work with couples, I’m not just asking about color palettes or floral preferences. I want to know how they want their wedding to feel, what moments they’re most excited about, and which traditions or details carry significance. From there, we collaborate closely to build a celebration that feels intentional, expressive, and entirely their own.
Whether they come in with a clear vision or are just beginning to shape it, I guide them through every step of the process. I’m offering creative direction, thoughtful structure, and a calm, grounded presence. My goal is always to transform their ideas into something elevated, cohesive, and effortless, while never losing sight of the heart behind it all.
