Tell me a little bit about your business!
Art and typography have been a passion of mine as long as I can remember – I even had books on hand-lettering in middle school! Although my college degree is in mechanical engineering, I returned to my artistic passion after having my two little girls, Clara and Ginny. I absolutely love running Fresh Cut Prints and being able to work one-on-one with my clients. It’s very important to me to get to know the couples who choose me as their stationer, because it allows me to create a wedding suite to match their aesthetic perfectly. By combining my understanding of etiquette with an elegant yet modern aesthetic, together we can create a beautiful and unique invitation that will impress both the strictest members of your family and your fun-loving peers.
What makes your work unique?
Every watercolor painting, illustration, or hand lettering in my work is created by me personally, so it won’t be found anywhere else. I love being able to flex my design muscles and create something completely unique for each client!
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal client is a couple who is cognizant of the traditional etiquette concerns, but still wants a unique and modern design. Knowing the etiquette rules allows me to break them where we see fit, while still communicating the tone and style of the wedding to the guests. My ideal clients are willing to open up and let me get to know them so that I can truly represent their personality in the designs.
How do you work with couples to bring their wedding paper dreams to life?
I LOVE explaining my process to my clients! I’d love for others to understand how much time, care, and attention is put into each design. After creating a mood board or getting a solid idea of the wedding style, I sketch out some ideas or mull it over for a few days. This is why it’s so important to leave enough time for your designers – great ideas don’t always come on command! After I have a solid idea of the design, I get to work drawing, lettering, painting, or working in Illustrator to create the invitation. I truly invest myself in each design!
