Tell us a little bit about your business.
I am Chef Alekka, a private chef in that specilaizes in unique and custom events and menus. I also teach cooking classes in your home or my space in Mt Oliver. I have been a chef for over 20 years and I love all things food and teaching. I have been a regular guest chef on Talk Pittsburgh and am classically trained in French cooking and baking.
I cannot image myself doing anything else for my career. I believe that we show our love through food and this is a industry where I am constantly learning something new. I love sharing all of that with my friends, family, and clients.
What makes your work unique?
My events and classes are on the smaller side. I like to connect one-on-one with my clients to design a class or menu that suits the theme of the event. I’ve been told that I am a red-headed culinary firecracker that can cook some really good French food. I also like to make my cooking classes very approachable so my clients can take what they learned in class and make it again at home.
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal clients are ones that love food and are open to classic dishes with a twist. For my cooking class clients, I love when people ask me questions or have a passion for learning a new skill or technique.
