Tell us a little bit about your business.

I’m Derek, owner and lead photographer and videographer at Chase Images. My team and I have been part of the Pittsburgh wedding scene for 15 years, and we’ve captured over 400 weddings along the way.

Preserving your legacy is something we truly care about. For us, it’s not just about photos and video, it’s about capturing the people who were there with you and, most importantly, how you felt in those moments. That’s one of the reasons I love what I do. There’s nothing quite like being trusted with memories this meaningful. I’m grateful every single day that I get to do this!

What makes your work unique?

First off, we do everything we can to keep things relaxed and stress-free. If being in front of the camera makes you a little nervous, we’ve got you covered. Helping you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself is kind of our thing. And I promise, it’ll actually be fun! Our job as photographers is to put you in the best light and provide guidance on the best poses that are flattering and most importantly, speak to YOU. Having a background in both architecture and landscape photography, we bring a fresh artistic approach to portraiture. This blend of perspectives allows us to create striking, creative images that feel dynamic and intentional. Your photos will be anything but boring! We keep our editing classic and true to life, so your photos and videos still feel timeless years from now. Our goal is for you to look back on your images and still feel the same emotions you felt in the moment.

We started out as photographers, then added video to our services in 2020. Now, we’re excited to offer both! Working as a hybrid photo/video team has some great perks. By handling both photos and video on your wedding day, we keep things simple and seamless, so you can feel comfortable putting your trust in one team from start to finish.

What is your ideal client like?

More than anything, we want our clients to feel totally comfortable trusting us. They share their wedding vision, stay excited through the process, and love working together to capture real, memorable moments. I’m grateful to have worked with so many amazing couples, and it means so much when they come back to us for other milestones like maternity, family, or anniversary photos. People that work with us become friends, not just clients!

What is your approach to photography?

Our main focus is capturing candid emotion and genuine, fun, romantic images that truly reflect who you are as a couple. At the same time, your wedding details are just as important to us. From carefully chosen décor and florals to meaningful personal touches, these elements help tell the complete story of your day. They are the images that tie everything together, creating a cohesive and heartfelt narrative, and we are committed to capturing every part of it with intention and care.
