Tell me a little bit about your business!
Hi! My name is Carl S. Miller and I am both a wedding filmmaker and photographer. Originally from California, I’ve slowly made my way east and am so excited to have finally settled down in Pittsburgh. I service couples throughout the U.S. and pride myself on building relationships with my clients. It not only ensures my work becomes an accurate reflection of your personality and relationship, but it helps us have some fun along the way.
What makes your work unique?
While I have a distinct style to my work, I don’t have a formula for crafting my films. Just like your wedding might have a common sequence of events, it’s the people and stories you fill it with that make it unique to you, and that’s what I build on with my films. I want your wedding film to be the narrative of both your history and future as a couple, and something you vividly see yourself in. I think my care and consistency in achieving this makes my work unique from many others.
What is your ideal client like?
That’s a tough one. The diversity of couples I’ve worked with has brought beautiful surprises and unexpected adventures, to the point where I’d be remiss to define a box not everyone can fit in. That said, I make no attempt to “sell” couples on the value and importance of a wedding film. The clients I choose to work with already recognize it.
What is your approach to videography?
My approach is to be intentional in every decision I make. From camera placement and lens selection on the day to pacing and audio mixing once editing, I want everything I do to work in unison and result in a film that grants the viewer a true experience – an experience filled with a dance of emotion that tugs deep down in your gut. I do all of this while avoiding fads within the industry. I want your films to be timeliness, not a reflection of a stylized look that happened to be popular at the time.
