Bridal Maven is Pittsburgh’s premier bridal consignment boutique. We specialize in bringing designer gowns to soonlyweds at affordable prices by utilizing fashion’s most sustainable method – resale! The most sustainable garment is the one that already exists, and that is also true for wedding gowns. By shopping consignment, brides can support fellow brides, the environment, their wallets, and a woman-owned small business all in one swoop! We carry over 300 dresses that range in price from $500 – $2500, with about half being under $1000, in sizes 0 – 32.

What makes your work unique?

When people think of a “secondhand store,” they often think of a dingy thrift shop. Not at Bridal Maven! We offer a charming boutique shopping experience in the heart of Dormont’s business district. Every appointment is helmed by an expert stylist whose mission it is to connect the bride with the gown that makes her feel amazing, in a shop where the goods just happen to be affordable, sustainable, and possibly loved before. After all, why should the most gorgeous gown you’ve ever seen be worn ONE time? And why should it be full price? We also offer a unique service to newlyweds – a chance to recoup some of the investment they made into their attire while ensuring their gown does not become a single use garment! We have found over the years that many of our consignors are genuinely just as happy to hear that their gown found a new home as they are to receive the check.

What is your ideal client like?

There are a few types of clients who gel really well with our shop.

One ideal client is a second hand shopper who already understands that consignment shopping is a little bit like treasure hunting – when you find it, you take it home with you, or it may not be there tomorrow!

Another ideal client is the practically minded shopper who wants to look like a million bucks without spending it. She has a budget and is open to falling in love with different styles. She stalks our website just a little bit.

Overall, our ideal client loves a deal but is also shopping for authenticity. She wants something that reflects her style and that allows her to feel how she wants to feel on her wedding day, whether that is classic, stylish, boho, romantic, traditional, or anything in between. A little more laid back, she is open to surprises.

Our ideal consignors can’t stand to see their gown sit in a box for 30 years. They understand that we will handle the hard parts of reselling their dress and that we will do our best to match make for their gown! They love the idea of their gown getting another chance to shine.

What designers and styles do you carry?

One of the fun parts about being a consignment store is that we have a huge variety of designers, both mainstream and high end or unique. Common names in our store are Stella York, Rebecca Ingram, Justin Alexander, Madi Lane, Lover’s Society, and Allure. Variety is something we excel in!

All styles were current within the last three years and have been dry cleaned if they’ve been down the aisle before. We also have a number of sample gowns from partner boutiques and new-with-tags gowns that have never been worn!

Do clients need an appointment?

Yes! We try to make this as easy for you as possible. You can view our calendar for the next three months online. We operate by appointment only, Wednesday thru Saturday. Hours are subject to change and you can always check our Instagram for a pinned post of our current offerings!
