Tell me a little bit about your business!
Bethel Bakery has been a family-owned and operated bakery since 1955 and we are known for our French buttercream icing. We are a full retail bakery, which means we offer everything from large wedding cakes to individual pastries and everything in between! We have created a whole storefront with its own team dedicated to weddings and larger events, with private parlors to host cake tastings/consultations. Each parlor holds over 20 cakes on display to help couples visualize different sizes, shapes, and designs of tiered cakes. We love working with couples and their families to make their dessert dreams come true! Our bakery lives by the philosophy that our desserts should always taste as good as they look. We will never sacrifice quality of flavor for design. We are proud to create delicious works of art.
What makes your work unique?
Our team is made up of a diverse group of individuals who have a wide variety of skills. Some of us have been professionally trained and others have learned from the school of life. We bring to the table hundreds of years of combined experience and we know our craft very well. We are naturally curious individuals who find inspiration everywhere. We find so much joy in creating. Wedding cakes are so personal and every couple that we work with holds a very near and dear place in our heart. Each element of their design, batter, and filling is representative of their preferences and the collaboration between them and our team. We are a preferred vendor at many venues, which means that we are not only familiar with your reception venue, but also the coordinators and other vendors you are working with.
What is your ideal client like?
Our ideal clients are dessert people! People who are genuinely excited to sit down with us as much as we are excited to sit down with them. Many ask us what they need to bring to their consultation and our response is always – an appetite for dessert and we’ll take it from there.
How do you work with couples to bring their dessert dreams to life?
The beginning of a relationship with a couple generally starts with a inquiry phone call/email which leads to a tasting/consultation appointment. We ask each couple to complete an information sheet prior to their visit so that we may be best prepared and have inspiration designs/preferred batters/fillings ready to make best use of their time. We know that today’s couples face complicated work schedules, often times are planning from out of town, and are balancing a lot. We do everything in our power to make the wedding cake planning process easy and fun. It is important to us to provide concierge level service to the couples in our care and to use our experience to make their planning easier.
