Tell us a little bit about your business.
Hi! I’m Adam Michaels and I’ve been a wedding photographer for a few years and I love every minute of it! I used to be an accountant (definitely not as fun) but came into photography after traveling around the world and then deciding it was time to come back home to Pittsburgh. That’s when Adam Michaels Photography was born!
What makes your work unique?
I think what sets my photography apart from others is is my use of surroundings. Almost all of my inquiries come from brides or grooms who love my use of different environmental backdrops, such as cityscapes, landscapes, and sunsets to help tell their story. Another important piece to my photography is the relationships that I build with my couples. I have a pretty easy-going personality, which helps my brides and grooms feel comfortable, which always leads to the best pictures!
What is your ideal client like?
My ideal client is anyone who really wants to have a great wedding. On the wedding day, the last thing I want to have to do is feel like I am pulling teeth to ask anyone to do any photos. Normally, when couples choose me to be their wedding photographer, they want to have awesome photos to look back on for the rest of their lives. And when couples trust my vision and want great photos, it’s the best thing ever.
What is your approach to photography?
My photography style is definitely very clean with a focus on making my couples “pop”. My goal is to put my couples in the most beautiful place and help them look amazing. I’m always on the lookout for light direction, the surroundings, and posing to make sure everything looks its best. That way, the couples can relax and only focus on having a good time because they know me and my team are taking care of everything else.
My approach to editing is to keep it clean, timeless, and well lit. When I shoot, I do my best to look for locations and poses that are the most flattering for the couple. That way, the images coming out of the camera are looking really good and I will only need to do some little enhancements here or there to make sure everything is looking its best.
