Hi, I’m Leeann of Leeann Marie Photography. As a Pittsburgh wedding photographer for over 18 years, I have a deep love for documenting couples who value family, connection, and beautiful environments. Photographing both large ballroom weddings and small courthouse events, I bring a polished, organized approach that helps couples feel completely at ease in front of my camera.

I’m inspired by beautiful light (whether natural or artificial), thoughtful details, moments with important people from young to old, and the joy of seeing families come together. My work blends classic portraiture with candid, emotional storytelling – creating photographs that feel both elegant and genuinely true to each couple. I take pride in knowing the ins and outs of Pittsburgh’s most iconic venues and love guiding my couples through photo locations, rain plans, and timeline decisions to ensure a seamless and beautiful wedding day.

I truly love people – my couples, their families, and the wonderful guests I’m lucky to meet through this work. Over the years, my photography journey has shaped me deeply. I’ve experienced both the joy of marriage and the grief that life can bring, and those moments have made me more empathetic, grounded, and present behind the camera. I bring that full human experience into every wedding day, and I’m especially drawn to couples who lead with gratitude and appreciation for the beautiful life they’re creating together.

What makes your work unique?

What truly sets my work apart is the personal attention and care I bring to every wedding. I take the time to genuinely get to know you and the people who matter most – calling your loved ones by name and understanding the relationships that make your day special. I ask each couple what feels important, what feels comfortable, and how they want to remember their wedding years from now.

I photograph weddings for their real-life meaning, not for how they might enhance my social media or portfolio. My couples will tell you the same: people matter most to me. Capturing you in a way that feels authentic, natural, and true-to-life is the heart of my work, and it’s where I place my greatest value.

What is your ideal client like?

My ideal couples cherish family, adore children, and make sure Grandma feels loved and included. They care about the meaningful details that make their wedding day beautiful, yet they also understand that the celebration is just the beginning of a much larger story. Many of my couples return to me again and again as their lives grow – from anniversaries to babies to family milestones – because they value having their story documented in a way that feels both elegant and deeply genuine.

What is your approach to photography?

From a technical perspective, I’m deeply committed to good light. While I absolutely love working with beautiful natural light, I’m equally skilled at lighting darker spaces – from classic Pittsburgh churches to elegant ballrooms. I’m always watching for clean backgrounds, genuine emotion, and flattering, true-to-life skin tones. My editing style is timeless with a contemporary touch, and yes, I’ll happily remove exit signs, spotted lanternflies, or anything else that distracts from the beauty of the moment.

Every gallery is hand-edited with care and delivered impeccably, and my turnaround time is one of the best in the industry.
