Kelsey and Jamie’s winter engagement shoot at the Getaway House cabins (now Postcard Cabins!) became even sweeter with the addition of their new pup, who tagged along for the sweetest snowy excursion. Brianna from Iris Marie Photography organized the shoot, inspired by the idea of adventure-driven mini-photo sessions for couples. After booking the Getaway House cabin, the group was just a forty-five-minute drive from Pittsburgh before finding themselves nestled among snow-dusted hemlocks. Kelsey and Jamie brought their dog Blu along, making this their first official family photo shoot – a perfect example of how engagement sessions can include your pets for an added layer of joy. Stunning sunlight filtered through the pines, casting a golden glow over the couple as they wandered the property and relaxed by an outdoor fire. With plenty of lounging and cuddling, the three posed by the cabin’s beautiful large windows, taking in the beauty of the wintery afternoon.

About the Shoot
From the photographer…
I booked a weekend at the Getaway House to offer unique, adventure-driven mini-sessions for couples. We got so lucky with the snow – it added to the winter wonderland vibes against the sleek, modern design of the Getaway House cabins. I loved the mix of nature shots and cozy indoor cabin moments that told a unique story for each couple who attended the minis.
Kelsey and Jamie, by coincidence, had just picked up their puppy, Blu, on the way to their mini-session – making this their first official family photoshoot together! It was a blast!
