Around this time of year, every event just feels extra special and today’s Pennsylvanian wedding is no exception. Because their nuptials took place between Christmas and New Year’s, Gabriella and Matt wanted an elevated vibe that embraced the seasonal festivities. They took advantage of the built-in holiday decor at their chosen venue and incorporated rich burgundy tones with soft, feminine blush pink touches. Metallic gold provided just the right amount of sparkle that a December wedding calls for. With romantic amber uplighting, dripping greenery, pops of red, and a gigantic decorated tree, the Pennsylvanian provided the prettiest setting. To make sure their guests felt the warmth and joy of this time of year, Gabriella and Matt treated their guests to passed champagne during the cocktail hour and a live band throughout the night. It was festive, celebratory, and luxurious…all the things we’d expect from a seasonal soiree. Catch the footage from Post Script Films and the photos from Steven Dray Photography while we go fill up on some eggnog and grab a few more Christmas cookies!
About the Couple
Matt and I met as we were waiting in line to board the same flight! We were flying from Norfolk, VA to D.C. He was having a conversation with a co-worker, and mentioned that his last stop was in Pittsburgh. I overheard him say this and immediately interjected! We started talking and met up when we got back in town and have been together ever since!!
We went away to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for our anniversary. We had a really romantic weekend planned and I had a feeling it may be coming, but I didn’t realize how much was happening behind the scenes! There was a snowstorm and the ring was being shipped from out of state. Matt had to have it over-nighted to his parents’ house, and his mom rushed it up to the resort as soon as it came in! I had been getting ready in our room, while Matt was apparently rushing around to get the ring from his mom. Fifteen minutes later, we were on our way to a wine tasting and Matt pulled me aside into a library to propose. Of course, I said yes! Needless to say, we celebrated with lots of wine and champagne.
About the Wedding
With our wedding between Christmas and the New Year, we wanted it to feel festive! Luckily, the Pennsylvanian has a huge Christmas tree that is beautifully decorated for the holidays. We incorporated lots of burgundy, blush, and gold tones into our color scheme, specifically in the floral arrangements, bridesmaids dresses, and tablescapes. Since our date was so close to New Year’s Eve, we also wanted it to feel like a party! We passed out champagne during our cocktail hour and had live music throughout dinner. We wanted to make sure everyone felt that warm, joyful, holiday feeling!
Favorite Moment
Walking to meet Matt and the end of the aisle! I hadn’t seen him at all that day and I was surprised that he teared up when he saw me. When I finally got to him, he told me it was the best day of his life and I’ll never forget him telling me that.
<3 love this wedding!
