Emily and Zack’s wedding at The Grand Estate includes everything a wedding should have, including personality and style! The couple shares a love of antiques, thrifting, and the outdoors, and they wanted their wedding to embody those characteristics too. They opted for an outdoor ceremony under a white gazebo followed by a classic-slash-vintage tented reception. With assistance from Wanderlust Weddings and Events, their old-meets-new vibe came together flawlessly. Even though they had a timeless color palette of dusty rose and gold, elegant floral arrangements designed by Community Flower Shop, and the staple Pittsburgh cookie table, they implemented some modern elements too. The pair shared a first look where they read their vows to one another before posing for photos with a vintage car as their backdrop. Additionally, their beloved dogs also played important roles – flower girl and ring bearer! Tasty Bakery even whipped up a two-tiered cake with textured detailing that was as beautiful as the finishes on Emily’s Essence of Australia wedding dress from Bridal Beginning. About the Couple
Zack and I met on Valentine’s Day 2015 at Finn McCool’s through mutual friends. He proposed on October 27, 2020 at Bryce Canyon while we were on a trip through Utah. Our friends set us up to take a picture and had me look out at the mountains. After a few seconds of not seeing Zack right next to me, I turned around and he was on one knee holding the ring box. I was so surprised and excited and I couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the trip!
About the Wedding
The colors were dusty rose with gold accents. We wanted a romantic/modern vibe with some vintage touches, especially since I love antiques and thrifting. We loved the outdoorsy, beautiful yet laid back vibe of The Grand Estate gazebo for the ceremony area but also the classic, romantic, elegant look of the reception tent. We loved that it was a combination of everything we were looking for and reflected our personal style so well!
Favorite Moment
I loved that we read our vows to each other during our first look. We went back and forth with doing a first look, but I’m glad we did. It was an intimate moment between us before the main events and wonderful chaos of the day really kicked off. Having our two french bulldogs walk down the aisle was also a favorite!
