A shared love of coffee lead to a University of Pittsburgh engagement session for Kelchis and Chris. After connecting on a dating app over their mutual interest in bougie caffeinated drinks, the pair was living together just eight months later. Shortly thereafter, these two lovebirds were engaged. To celebrate their love and the next chapter of their lives, they wanted to pay tribute to the city where they met and where their love story began. With Anne Troxel Photography in tow, Kelchis and Chris headed to the University of Pittsburgh, from which they both graduated. In front of infamous spots like Heinz Chapel’s red doors and the Cathedral of Learning, these two looked adorable together. This summery session is light, bright, and filled with lots of love – a triple threat if you ask us. Enjoy!

About the Couple
We met through Bumble! We matched in early July 2019. Chris’s profile mentioned an interest in “froofy coffee,” which got my attention immediately. Our shared love of coffee led us to have our first date at The Abbey on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. We ended up talking for five hours.
I was offered an amazing apprenticeship in Columbus, Ohio. We had only been together for eight months at the time. I asked Chris to come to Columbus with me, and was so happy when he said yes. Chris says he knew then that we were right for each other.
We spent many weekends traveling back and forth between Pittsburgh and Columbus. We were homesick and missed our families. On one of these trips, right around Christmas, Chris suggested we go to Phipps Conservatory for their lights display. It was December 17, 2021. I had no idea that Chris was anxiously hiding a ring box in his coat pocket. We made our way to a bench outside and sat down. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee, and we were engaged!

About the Session
Chris and I knew that our engagement session had to take place in Pittsburgh. It was where we fell in love, and we knew we wanted to move back to be near our families. It was also perfect because we took the pictures in June, and we first met in the summertime. We decided to take some photos at the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh campus. We actually attended Pitt at the same time, despite never meeting each other.
