If you’re looking for a classic venue that shows off our city in a magical way, a Renaissance Hotel wedding is a no-brainer. Adriana and Casey dressed up their traditional affair at this iconic Pittsburgh wedding venue with just a subtle touch of glam. It all started with Adriana’s dress – an encrusted, high-neck Stephen Yearick number purchased from Anne Gregory for the Bride that featured a heart-shaped back – the perfect look for a blushing bride. Because it was summer, the navy color palette was softened with blush pink and white florals from Patti’s Petals. Beaded metallic chargers, gold chiavari chairs, and lots of flickering candlelight gave the ballroom reception a romantic glow. A simple tiered buttercream cake and centerpieces of roses and hydrangeas were a continuation of Adriana and Casey’s timeless style. Jane+Dave Photography captured the effortless, refined beauty of this day, and any girl who considers herself a classic bride is sure to love this feature!
About the Couple
While both living in the Philadelphia area temporarily, Casey and I met at a hospital in 2013! We both were rotating through the hospital at the same time during our training. Work days were busy for both of us but I was always finding reasons to run into the cute resident that was floating around. He made my entire rotation when he asked me out right after my birthday. We were keeping in touch long distance for about a year and then finally were able to reconnect when his travel for training slowed down a bit. The rest was history!
We got engaged in July 2017 on Mount Washington, overlooking one of our favorite cities. It was really special because I had been so excited to show him this area of Pittsburgh the first time he visited the city in 2015. The engagement totally caught me off guard but was one of the best days of my life!
About the Wedding
We were aiming to go for a more classic/traditional-themed wedding. I had thought about a color palette for a while and it wasn’t until I found my wedding dress that it all clicked. Navy was not even on the radar until I started matching my girls’ dresses with mine. We ended up loving the way navy complimented my dress. Since it was the middle of summer, we added a touch of blush and white in with the flowers to brighten it up and the whole look came together!
At the start of wedding planning, we walked into the Renaissance and immediately knew it was the venue for us. We had a lot of friends and family travel from all over the country and a lot of them had not been to Pittsburgh before. We wanted a venue that not only fit our style but also showcased the city and all its beauty. The Renaissance Hotel and Pittsburgh did not disappoint that entire weekend. It was exactly what we wanted!
Favorite Moment
Definitely walking into the church and seeing Casey waiting for me at the end of the aisle. Seeing him in that moment put all of my pre-ceremony nerves at ease!
There was also a great break in the day where we got to casually walk around on the Clemente Bridge for some photos. We had a busy, exciting morning and afternoon and there was a lot going on in the city that day, so we took advantage of the bridge being closed due to a Pirates game. It was a perfect break in the day where the two of us just got so slow down for a bit, take it all in, and enjoy each other’s company just before the fun of our reception started.
