Dates With Activities

Pittsburgh Glass Center

Book one of their “Make-It-A-Date” nights – perfect for glass-blowing beginners aged 21 and up. Let the heat of the furnace spark some romance as you and your partner work with a local artist to transform molten glass into a beautiful new creation. It’s a unique and creative date night that blends teamwork with a touch of artistry. Plus, after your session, enjoy small bites and a glass of wine or beer, included with your ticket.

 The Mattress Factory

Explore the immersive and thought-provoking exhibits at this renowned contemporary art museum. The Mattress Factory highlights installations, videos, and performance art that are designed to be experienced, shared, and felt. It’s where you and your partner can truly get lost in creativity and inspiration.

Couples Skate at The Rink at PPG Place

Lace up your skates for a magical evening at this iconic outdoor ice skating rink, right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Skating under the stars is as romantic as it gets, so bundle up and enjoy the atmosphere. Be sure to reserve your time slot online to skip the wait. The rink is located next to Market Square, making it easy to grab a warm drink or treat afterward.

Quirky Dates

Randyland

Known as one of Pittsburgh’s most colorful landmarks, Randyland is a vibrant display of art made from upcycled found objects, creating whimsical and inspiring installations. This eclectic spot offers a welcoming environment where visitors can explore at their own pace. Best of all, it’s a budget-friendly outing – admission is free, with suggested donations encouraged. Open until 9 p.m., it’s the perfect place for a laid-back date. Afterward, wander the North Side for a drink or late-night bite to keep the evening going.

Carnegie Science Center

For a fun and unconventional date, check out one of the Science Center’s 21+ nights. On February 14th, they’re hosting a special “Seductive Science” event from 6 to 10 p.m. Wander through the exhibits after hours, gaze at the stars in the Buhl Planetarium, and dive into fascinating topics – including the science behind pleasure. It’s an evening of discovery with a playful twist!

Dining With Entertainment

con alma

Located on Penn Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, Con Alma is a restaurant and jazz bar that lives up to its name – which translates to “with soul.” Enjoy craft cocktails and live jazz every night of the week, with additional live music during Sunday brunch. Be sure to make a reservation to secure your visit for the perfect mix of food, music, and soul.

Gateway Clipper

Set sail on a romantic Valentine’s Dinner Cruise aboard the Gateway Clipper. With two nights to choose from, the cruise runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., offering stunning views of Pittsburgh’s skyline, a dinner buffet, and romantic music with a house DJ to keep the dance floor lively. Planning a double date? There’s even a discount for groups who book together – a fun way to share the experience with friends or other soonlyweds.

Speakeasies

Acacia

With a subtle exterior, Acacia offers an authentic Prohibition-era experience. This cozy South Side spot is known for serving some of the city’s finest cocktails. True to its theme, Acacia doesn’t take reservations – making it the perfect place to pop in for a nightcap and savor the intimate, laid-back vibe.

Cadence+ Cellars Speakeasy

Cadence+ Cellars blends the allure of a classic speakeasy with modern flavors. Known for its seasonal and holiday menus, every dish is crafted to pair beautifully with signature cocktails. The moody, swanky ambiance promises to transport you to another era.

Elevated Dining

Altius

Altius is the perfect choice for couples looking to dress up and indulge in an elevated culinary experience. Located on Grandview Avenue, this top-rated restaurant offers a modern and timeless interior with stunning views of the city. Business casual attire is required, adding a touch of elegance to your night out.

Morcilla

Morcilla takes you on a flavorful journey with its Spanish-infused family-style menu focused on small plates and signature charcuterie. The rustic ambiance pairs beautifully with their selection of wines and vermouth. Located in Lawrenceville, it’s an inviting spot for a cozy but refined dining experience.

Apteka

Apteka offers a creative take on Central and Eastern European cuisine – and it’s entirely vegan. While reservations are only accepted for parties of four or more, walk-ins are encouraged and welcomed. If you’re dining as a couple, plan to arrive early or enjoy a drink while you wait for a table. Apteka’s laid-back yet innovative vibe makes it a unique and memorable choice for Valentine’s date night.
