After TWO Royal Weddings in the past year and a half, all things classic and timeless are coming back in style, and that includes this elegant Omni William Penn wedding. With an absolutely swoon-worthy color palette of baby blue, sage green, and gold, this chic affair will have you channeling your inner duchess. Kelly admittedly wanted a “regal” wedding and boy, did she get what she wished for! From her Rosa Clara wedding dress with beaded cap sleeves to her dainty Bella Belle bridal shoes to a white tuxedo jacket-clad groom and bridesmaids as a walking something blue, this wedding party fit the day’s style to a tee. After a traditional church ceremony, the party was kicked off in a ballroom filled with gold accents, floating candles, greenery runners, and a hand-painted wedding cake from Mediterra Bakehouse. From a fashion forward bridal party to an all things sophisticated soiree, this wedding went off without a hitch thanks to Pittsburgh wedding planner Olive & Rose Events. If you need us for the rest of the day, we’ll just be here drooling over these images from Dawn Derbyshire Photography!
About the Wedding
Our inspiration came from my engagement ring! It is a marquise set on a white gold band, and it screams “antique/regal.” I am a self-proclaimed “old soul” and we knew we wanted an elegant, classic, and regal wedding…something very timeless, no DIY involved. I wanted the reception to be very simple, yet elegant. Of course, that led us to the Omni! It’s such an incredible classic venue where the ballroom is lined with gold banisters and the sparkling chandeliers add such character to the room. We loved how the William Penn Ballroom had a stage to showcase the band as well. Then came the dress – it is everything regal with cap sleeves filled with jewels, a dramatic back, and a very unique pattern! With the year of the Royal Wedding, we ran with that theme! The gold accents, greenery, hints of dusty blue, and classic attire all came together for our magical day!
Favorite Moment
Obviously, the cliche answer would be the ceremony at the church where we said our I do’s. But, we would both agree that it was during the later part of our reception, when we hopped up on stage with the band and belted out “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé. Looking out onto the dance floor and watching our family and friends share in our special day meant the world to us. We had so many guests travel near and far to be there to support us! It was certainly a surreal feeling, seeing all of our loved ones having a blast!
