Lily and Seth’s December wedding at Franklin on Penn struck the perfect wintery balance, combining moody decor with luxurious, seasonal-inspired touches for their guests. The indoor ceremony took place beneath a chuppah, accented with flowing greenery designed by Wild Botanical. Lily’s show-stopping bouquet, rich with thistles, orchids, and ferns, added vibrant color to their imagery, captured by Kaitlin Powell Photography. Lily’s winter-infused, sequin-embellished gown from The Wedding Factor sparkled, featuring chic bows at the shoulders and waist. Devoted to You Events curated moody details throughout the venue, including black furniture, elegant accents, a champagne wall, and one of the season’s trendiest offerings – an espresso martini wall. Single-stem florals, like deep red calla lilies, adorned the tables, while greenery climbed the room’s pillars. Candlelight was used throughout to enhance the atmosphere, culminating in a romantic cake-cutting moment with their botanical-frosted cake by Bella Christie’s Sweet Boutique.Â

About the Couple
Seth and Lily met at the start of COVID while working in the emergency department. Seth is an emergency medicine doctor, and Lily works as a physician assistant in the trauma and surgical intensive care unit. Their connection was immediate, forming just as the city began to shut down. That first year together was spent dining outdoors, taking long hikes, and traveling anywhere they could enjoy the open air.
Seth proposed in their Philadelphia apartment after an ordinary morning of going to the gym and walking their dog. Later, he surprised Lily at a local brunch spot, where a planned celebration awaited with their families and closest friends.

About the Wedding
From the couple…
We knew we wanted a winter wedding and imagined a cozy, whimsical, and romantic feel. Drawn to neutral and metallic tones, we focused on moody candlelight, and thoughtful details – and it all turned out perfectly! Our wedding felt unique because of how we incorporated our families throughout the day’s celebration.

Favorite Moment
We have so many favorite moments! Our first dance was so much fun, and it was amazing to invite all of our guests onto the dance floor afterward. We also cherished the time we spent taking pictures and hanging out together before the ceremony – this was a really special part of the day for us.
