Kelly and Michael’s engagement shoot was perfectly timed – happening the same day they closed on their first home together. Just as Kelly was about to pop the champagne to celebrate, Michael knelt down on the pathway leading to their front door. With a friend enlisted as their photographer, each moment of joy was beautifully captured. Adding a personal touch, Michael hung a clever sign from the wooden real estate post in front that read, “Kelly, Will You Marry Me?” The couple then strolled through their new home, unrolled their first doormat printed with their names, and toasted with champagne – side by side, ready for this next chapter together.

About the Couple
Kelly and Michael’s love story began in the summer of 2020, as the pandemic eased slightly and they both decided to try online dating. Kelly had been on dating apps before and felt a bit discouraged by her past experiences. But on the very first day she downloaded Match, she matched with Michael – and things instantly clicked.
Because of their busy schedules, they couldn’t meet in person for three weeks. On the day of their first date, Michael was also closing on his first home. Although meeting a stranger at their house wasn’t something Kelly would typically do, she felt safe after realizing she knew his realtor, who was a mutual friend. So, she decided to stop by with a celebratory bottle of champagne in hand.
Nothing about that day went as planned. After a series of delays and Kelly’s Uber getting lost, she finally arrived and got a tour of Michael’s charming new home. The remainder of their date included an unfortunate dining experience and waiting outside in the rain, but they laughed through it all. Kelly remembers falling in love with Michael that very night.

About the Proposal
Fast forward to 2023, we sold Michael’s home and decided to purchase a home together. After closing on our new home, we returned to the house to take photos. Little did I know that there was a huge surprise in store. Michael had been planning with my best friends and our families. As I struggled to open the champagne bottle, Michael led me out the front door for pictures. The moment I took my eyes off the bottle, I saw him down on one knee. He was proposing! Michael’s older sisters Eileen and Shannon even arranged for their friend to photograph the surprise! But it didn’t end there. Michael had arranged for our families to meet at a restaurant afterward to celebrate.
