Out of all of the love stories featured on Burgh Brides over the years, this vow renewal just might be our absolute favorite. Jan and Ron originally met at a roller rink many years ago but they recently hit a major marriage milestone – 59 years together! To celebrate this incredible accomplishment, the pair decided to recommit their love to one another at the care home where they both now live. We don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as Jan and Ron renewed their wedding vows while surrounded by their children and loved ones. The care home staff helped to make this an extraordinary occasion with a special lunch, darling decorations, and sparkling cider. No wedding celebration is complete without a cake cutting and a first dance, and Jan and Ron even got to reenact theirs from all those years ago. Throughout their lives together, the couple welcomed two children and adopted a third. In the past, Jan ran a day care center and decorated wedding cakes (this feature was meant to be!) and Ron worked at a grocery store. He loved working on cars and cleaning while Jan was good at sewing, and they both shared a love of gardening. When asked about the vow renewal, Jan said, “I liked it.” However, when asked how she felt about her husband, Jan replied, “He’s the most important.” Sweeter words simply couldn’t have been spoken. Enjoy this feature from Shelby Heisler Photography that celebrates long-lasting love, a strong marriage, and a happy, healthy life together.
