Amanda and Evan’s August wedding at The Barn at Maple Falls was a serene dream! Nestled in the beautiful mountains of the Laurel Highlands, the Pittsburgh wedding venue boasted waterfalls and lush grounds – the most romantic backdrop as Amanda floated down the aisle in a stunning Ines Di Santo wedding gown from Bridal Beginning! Glam To Go perfected soft, ethereal hair and makeup, which perfectly complimented the natural setting. Event Source, ILLUME Lighting + Event Design, and Windswept Entertainment & Event Rentals curated a gorgeous al fresco reception space – a grand tent adorned with twinkling string lights, crisp white drapes, overflowing greenery, and a one-of-a-kind floral chandelier! The tables donned luxurious Sahara roses and arrangements blooming with flowers of mellow pink, dusty rose, cream, and pops of mustard hues, all designed by Blossoms By Jilliann. Each place setting was completed with a love poem written by the groom himself, beautifully wrapped in a satin napkin – the perfect personal touch! The party moved into the large, two story barn where Bachelor Boys Band electrified the dance floor and kept guests moving and grooving! About the Couple
Amanda and Evan had never met but were aware of each other because they shared mutual friends and actually lived on the same street in Shadyside. Their first conversation at the Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest party was not your typical romantic comedy moment. They exchanged pleasantries and that was about it. Evan worked his charm and made a lasting impression. He left that night grinning from ear to ear because he knew that he met the women he was going to marry. Amanda may not have had similar thoughts but she left that night knowing there was something special about that sweet guy.
Over the next few months, Evan would go to as many 50 Finest charity events as possible with hopes that Amanda would be there. The more time they spent together, the clearer it become that these two were meant to be. Once Evan and Amanda decided to make it official, they were inseparable.
Evan proposed at the couple’s home in Wexford. He lined the four staircases with 24 personally typed letters, which contained special moments the couple shared over the years and reasons why Evan wanted to marry Amanda. He had the song “Question” on repeat in the background as Amanda made her way up the stairs, reading each note and crying along the way. When Amanda finally landed at the top of the stairs, Evan was down on one knee in his finest tux. Amanda thought the eventful evening of surprises was over, but Evan had another treat up his sleeve. Evan surprised Amanda afterward with an engagement party in which both of their families were in attendance. It was a perfect evening!

About the Wedding
We wanted a romantic and soft setting so we engaged ILLUME Lighting + Event Design to drape our tent, hang a gorgeous greenery chandelier, and line the tent ceiling and parameter with greenery. It was absolutely stunning. Our florist Jillian blew it out of the park, lining our long tables with thick and voluminous florals and she constructed gorgeous high centerpieces, which were stunning.
Evan loves to write poems. On each dinner plate was neatly placed a menu card and a creative poem he wrote titled, “The Best Day Ever”. The menu was printed on ivory paper and the poem on a dusty rose paper – both our wedding colors – and it brought everything together beautifully. We loved that we were able to add a personal touch to our guests’ dining experience and connect with them in a special way while expressing our creative side and love for one another.

Favorite Moment
We loved having the opportunity to celebrate our wedding day with our beloved family and friends. Mother Nature was on our side that day and it turned out to be a beautiful day. The Bachelor Boys Band was phenomenal. We loved dancing to the hora with our family and friends and going up in the chair was exhilarating. It really was the best day ever.
