This oh-s0-serene engagement session is like a breath of fresh air. Taking in the summer sun, a light breeze, and the pastel colors of the season, these photos are soft and sweet. Shelby and Wayne took off with their photographer, Levana Melamed, and hit up the downtown area. Mellon Square Park, Strawberry Way, the fountain at the Point, and even PNC Park – where the couple had their first date – make an appearance. The couple looked magically comfortable in front of Levana’s camera as they giggled, cuddled, and basked in that newly-engaged glow! The result was this beautiful, relaxed, light session that is guaranteed to give you all the feels!

Tell me about yourselves! When and how did you meet? How long have you been together? How did you get engaged? All the juicy details!
Our first date was essentially a blind date. We had been matched on an online dating website and had our first date just a few days later at a Pirates game. We had an instant connection; it was like we had known each other all of our lives.
Wayne proposed to me in December of 2015 in the exact same spot where we shared our first kiss – on the sidewalk across from the well-known dive bar Gooski’s in Polish Hill.
Describe the engagement session and what inspired the shoot. What was unique about it?
Our photographer, Levana, made us feel so comfortable right from the very beginning. She gave us enough direction to guide us during the shoot, but did so in a way that it felt like it was just me and my fiance, enjoying a beautiful evening together.
I wanted our engagement photos to reflect our personalities and Levana did a great job finding locations in Pittsburgh that were colorful and serene. I also loved how Levana was able to capture PNC Park in the background of a few of our photos, as the park holds a very special place in our hearts and takes us back to that magical moment when we first met.
