Mixing gorgeous golden light with fall-like vibes, this Riverfront Park engagement session is sweet and serene. Alyssa and Jon find the water to be calming and peaceful, so they headed to the banks of the river with Palermo Photo. They traipsed about the park, taking in the late fall foliage and waterfront views all while getting totally getting lost in each others eyes. It’s easy to see these two are crazy about each other and these photos ooze modern romance. Surrounded by the beauty of nature but not without a few iconic Pittsburgh bridges, this shoot is a contemporary take on the classic engagement shoots we all know and love. This one is bound to be a favorite too!
About the Couple
We actually met in preschool, but didn’t become friends until high school because, well, cooties. We were in lots of classes together and became really good friends, still hanging out and visiting each other when Jon went off to Penn State and I went to Pitt. We had a few will-they-or-won’t-they moments throughout college and beyond when Jon moved to Philadelphia, but the timing was never right…until one day it was!
We started dating long distance in 2016, and my irresistible charm lured Jon back to Pittsburgh and into an apartment together in 2017, then a house in 2018. When Jon pulled out the ring he had hidden in our nightstand during a Nemacolin weekend getaway, I was convinced we found a ring the last occupants left behind! And that those occupants happened to have the same taste in East-West set marquise diamond rings! I thankfully pieced it together and said yes once Jon got down on one knee.
About the Session
Our session took place in late October on a day that was terribly windy and rainy all morning and afternoon. However, the weather cleared up beautifully in time for our session. We both feel very at peace near water, and love the modern look of the white building with gorgeous open windows among the surrounding beauty of nature, so we knew Aspinwall Riverfront Park was a great location.
