This library engagement session from Solasta Photography will make you believe in once-upon-a-times and happily-ever-afters. Carrie is an author and Greg is a historian. When searching for the ideal spot for their engagement photo shoot, the Laughlin Memorial Library in Ambridge (Greg’s hometown) proved to be the perfect spot. It’s endless rows of books, ornate marble pillars, and detailed ceiling gave off a mix of antiquity and fairy tale – a perfect combination to reflect this pair. Whether sweetly dancing among the stacks or playfully kissing in a cozy reading nook, the excitement these two feel as they start the next chapter of their lives is almost palpable. They’re adorable and so are these images. Go ahead and CHECK OUT today’s feature!
About the Couple
When I was a freshman at St. Vincent College, a certain handsome football player caught my eye. But he happened to be a senior, so, I assumed he was too cool for me. Therefore, I settled for some wistful sighing when he passed by me in the cafeteria and left it at that.
Years passed. Then, because Pittsburgh is the biggest small town in the world, we crossed paths again. This time, I jumped right into conversation with him, having decided that I was, in fact, cool enough for him. Lucky for me, he agreed, and thought I was pretty cute, too.
That led to a first date, which led to a relationship, which led to a snowy Christmas Eve’s Eve proposal. It might have taken a decade for us to find each other but that turned out to be time well spent. We’ve had so much fun realizing just how often our paths crossed in those years.
About the Session
When we started discussing our engagement photos, we knew wanted to bring our personalities into the photos. I’m an author, so I hoped to have photos in a library. Greg is a history buff and proud of his hometown, Ambridge.
Luckily, the Ambridge Library (Laughlin Memorial Library) is just down the street from Greg’s house and is absolutely beautiful. Given as a gift to the community in the 1920s, it features gorgeous marble pillars, incredibly detailed ceilings, and plenty of books.
Caitlin was such an easy photographer to work with. She had us laughing and smiling the whole time. Her photos really let our personalities shine through. I’m so pleased with how the entire process turned out!
