New Hazlett Theater is extending beyond its performances, theater groups, and concerts to encourage couples to dream a little brighter for their wedding day. Aptly titled “Stage Your Day,” the wedding showcase allowed engaged couples and industry professionals to experience an interactive event with some of Pittsburgh’s wedding experts. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, catering from Bistro To Go, desserts, and wedding-inspired vignettes, with final curtain call by Bella Christie’s unforgettable fresh cannoli station.
Erica Hillard Photography captured the vibrant and historic venue, while immersive wedding vignettes, quite literally, took center stage. Design teams included Wanderlust Weddings & Events, Kristen Gornall Events, Hello Productions, and Enhanced Creativity Event Planning, each creating a unique tablescape concert that showed just how versatile New Hazlett truly is.
Each vignette offered a distinct theme and design perspective, incorporating florals, rentals, decor, stationery, and interactive elements – including a vintage popcorn machine. One team drew inspiration from Phantom of the Opera, creating a custom playbill as their ceremony program and an interactive vintage camera photobooth. Another embraced vibrant colors, springtime florals, and natural textures like wicker and raffia, as floral and lighting installations were suspended above. The 1978 Collection, Vintage Alley Rentals, and ILLUME Lighting + Event Design helped bring each concept from production to reality. Distinctive color palettes and creative floral shapes from Sapphire & Lace, Community Flower Shop, and The Floral Touch enhanced each display.
What made this day feel different? Guests were encouraged to interact with the setups and experience four different moods on the stage. They could touch the linens, sit in the chairs, and, of course, stop and smell the flowers, all while enjoying a curated DJ set from Fireside Events – bringing wedding-day inspiration to life beneath the Hazlett’s marquee glow.
Activations in the lobby included live music by violinist Stephen Vance, flash tattoos provided by Torch & Dagger, and custom embroidered gifts created by Loops & Littles.
Reenergizing couples in the midst of wedding planning, the showcase displayed how the theater extends far beyond its traditional dimensions. Outside, stone steps provide a picturesque backdrop for portraits, while indoors, couples find a reception area, bar lounge, and the iconic black box theater for countless possibilities for their one-of-a-kind celebrations.
