A soft color palette, a princess ballgown wedding dress, and some jaw-dropping head table decor make this chic wedding at Hotel Monaco totally unforgettable. Muted tones of blush and sage met ivory, white, and gold for a look that was feminine and light. Kelly looked like a quintessential bride in her Anne Barge off-the-shoulder wedding dress, and her top knot – done by Pittsburgh wedding hair stylist Simply Captivating Salon – was the crowning glory on her bridal look. After a traditional church ceremony and a bridal wardrobe change, the newlyweds partied at Hotel Monaco, whose ballroom was filled with candlelight and lush florals and fresh greenery from Mocha Rose Floral and Event Design. The bridal party’s table – with it’s elevated arrangement dripping in amaranthus, roses, and hydrangeas – was the pièce de résistance! Just WAIT until you see it and the other pretty details captured by Jeannine Bonadio Photography!
About the Couple
We met our sophomore year of college at the University of Oklahoma. Our sorority and fraternity houses happened to be right next door to each other. One weekend, James’s fraternity was having a party and a mutual friend of ours was going and asked me to join. I was introduced to James that night and we quickly realized how much we had in common. It was hard to believe we had not met yet since we both had the same major and lived next door to each other. After meeting, we started to hang out, walk to class together, and attend events together. After being dates for multiple events, we decided to make it official and the rest is history. After five years of dating and a few moves in between, James took me to New York City the week before Christmas and proposed in Central Park. We flew to Pittsburgh a few days later to celebrate with my family!
About the Wedding
The wedding was everything we could have imagined and more! We wanted a beautiful and romantic reception but also we did not want it to feel “stuffy”. We knew we wanted soft and romantic colors with some greenery. We also added candles to the tables, which made our space even more beautiful. We loved how adding some uplighting to the dance floor defined that space and gave it a fun vibe. I also absolutely loved the cookie table set-up. t was perfectly arranged and such a surprise for some of our non-Pittsburgh guests, who had never heard of a cookies table. Since we had so many guests coming from different parts of the country (and some who had never visited Pittsburgh before), we wanted to make sure our family and friends enjoyed themselves and didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our out-of-town guests were amazed at how beautiful Hotel Monaco was, and how awesome Pittsburgh is!
Favorite Moment
One of our favorite moments was towards the end of the night when we had a large group of family and friends left on the dance floor dancing and celebrating. It was not only such a fun experience, but it was amazing to look around the room and see so many people from different parts of our lives gathered on one dance floor.
