Kate and Luis’s industrial wedding at the since-closed Ace Hotel is chock full of so much goodness, we almost don’t know where to begin. For starters, THAT DRESS! Can we get a round of applause for the bride’s sleek and chic BHLDN wedding dress featuring a cut out back, V neck, and cap sleeves?! A feathery bouquet of anemones, greenery, and pampas grass made by Sapphire and Lace Design and a crystal vine hairpiece from Clarissa Boutique completed Kate’s look. Her minimalist vibe set the tone of the rest of the wedding day, which focused on simple details, good music, and a great party. The hotel’s old gymnasium provided a funky backdrop while strings of bistro lights from EF Lighting upped the romance factor. A neon sign bearing the couple’s initials added a funky beat. With killer portraits from Rachel Rowland Photography and flawless execution by Exhale Events, this feature is effortlessly cool and completely enviable. We’re in love!
About the Couple
Kate and Luis met in the summer of 2011 when Kate started a new job and was seated next to Luis. She proceeded to ask him a million questions about drawing in Auto CAD. They got engaged on a trip to Cartagena, Colombia – a city they both love!
About the Wedding
Kate and Luis wanted to keep things simple, using mostly greens and white flowers with pops of magenta, including a big neon sign. The ceremony was officiated by the father of the bride, which meant a lot to the couple. They wanted the wedding to be a big party with all their family and friends, so they hired a live band for great dancing and they made sure to play lots of salsa music as well!
