If crazy romantic details are kind of your thing, then this Bella Sera wedding is sure to stop you dead in your tracks. For Alyssa and Billy’s celebration, Shayla Hawkins Events teamed up with EF Lighting, greenSinner, and All Occasions Party Rentals to transform Bella Sera into a greenery wonderland. Fresh foliage took over the venue and a sea of candlelight brought a warm and swoon-worthy glow to the space. As if the ambiance wasn’t dreamy enough, Alyssa wore not one but two gorgeous gowns, including a Meghan Markle inspired Milla Nova dress from Bridal Beginning. Bridesmaids in white, gold foil wedding stationery, Louboutin flats, and a Bethel Bakery wedding cake that included a tier of gold glitter completed the envious details. Don’t worry about FOMO because Traveling Heart Productions and Jenna Hidinger Photography captured every last one of them. Get a load of this!
About the Couple
Alyssa and Billy met at the University of Pittsburgh in late January 2014. Their first date took place at Mad Mex. Alyssa says that she knew within three months of dating Billy that he was the one!
Billy proposed in Las Vegas when the two were walking home from dinner, and he asked in front of the Bellagio fountain! He pretended to just want a regular picture, and he started asking strangers to take a photo of them. Alyssa was very resistant to taking any sort of picture at that time, but she finally agreed. As the volunteer was taking their picture, Billy got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes!
About the Wedding
Alyssa and Billy’s wedding was a picture of pure elegance with a plethora of romantic details! Bella Sera, modeled after a classic Italian villa, served as a backdrop for an abundance of cascading greenery and hanging, twinkling candles. Gold details decorated the tables, along with well thought out floral arrangements, tall candles, and textured linens. The space, as a whole, felt inviting and intimate – yet luxurious and classic – with a modern twist.
Favorite Moment
From the photographer…
My favorite moment of the day was when Alyssa was coming down the aisle and Billy was seeing her for the first time. Both Billy and Alyssa had HUGE smiles on their faces, and then, all of a sudden (when she was almost to the front of the aisle!), her long veil came out of her hair! What really stood out to me about this moment was the way Alyssa handled it; being the laid-back, stress-free bride that she was, her and her dad both started genuinely laughing as guests reacted with shock! And really, that’s a testament to how the ENTIRE wedding day was: relaxed, fun, and carefree – no matter what was going on. It was easy to tell that Alyssa and Billy were just genuinely excited to be married. They didn’t let any small thing that went wrong dampen their day!
