When it comes to mountain inspired celebrations, this Seven Springs wedding checks all the inspirational boxes. As avid skiers and snowboarders, Rebecca and Jonathan wanted a venue with an outdoor ceremony spot and a reception space that brought those mountain vibes to life. There was no better place for them to start their next chapter than the very place where Rebecca learned to ski as a child. Their vivid color palette of steel blue, purple, red, and yellow looked striking against the natural elements of the lodge-like venue. After a gorgeous ceremony among the trees and a photo session with Leeann Marie Photography that included a ride on the ski lift, the scenic theme continued with mountain table numbers, a slope-inspired cake, and plenty of wooden accents. This picturesque day is sure to be a new favorite!

About the Couple
Jon and I met freshman year at Penn State Behrend at a party. I cannot say it was love at first sight, but there was definitely chemistry. During sophomore year, we lived in the same building, so we would run in to each other pretty often. One freezing cold night in Erie, I was showering when the fire alarm in our building went off. I threw on shorts, a hoodie, and my ugly winter boots as quickly as possible to go and stand outside. Jon saw me outside in shorts, came over, and put his arms around me to keep me warm. After the fire drill was over and we were allowed to go back inside, Jon held the door open for me, gave me a hug, and asked me if I wanted to hang out some time. The rest is history.
For the proposal, he decided to go with a simple backyard proposal on our ninth dating anniversary. We agreed to not buy each other anything for our anniversary to save some money for trips instead, but he bought some light up marquee letters and shipped them to a locker away from our house so he could pick them up when I was asleep. He then picked up a very nice piece of wood from Home Depot to nail in small nails to hang the marquee letters from and a small shelf to place a question block light. I nearly spoiled the surprise when, the day of the building, I was supposed to go into the office but decided to work from home instead! He had to tell me to not come into the garage and thankfully, he was able to make the sign without me knowing what he was doing out there. He then hid the sign on the side of the house, making it easy to set up in the backyard.
We had a lovely dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant and once we got home, he excused himself to the bathroom. Instead, he snuck outside and grabbed the sign and turned on all the letters in the backyard. When he came back inside, he led me to the backyard for the anniversary surprise and proposed!

About the Wedding
The inspiration behind our wedding was what made us, us! We picked everything based off of the things we enjoy and our shared interests. We love skiing, snowboarding, and the outdoors, and we wanted to find a venue with an outdoor ceremony spot and also a reception space to fit that outdoorsy, mountain look and feel. We ended up taking some ideas from Pinterest and wedding blogs, combining them with our own style for our fantastic wedding day!
From the moment we saw Seven Springs’ ceremony site and reception areas, we knew it was the one. We toured a few other venues but did not feel the connection that they were us. However, when we toured Seven Springs, it was perfect and exactly what we were looking for!
