With a wedding planner as the bride, you know this Energy Innovation Center wedding is bound to be a good one. As the owner and lead planner of Joyful Events by Jade, Jade is a logistic wizard and design expert who knew she wanted a blank slate venue where she could work her magic. Along with an incredible team of Pittsburgh wedding vendors, Jade and Jason transformed the industrial chic wedding venue into a fresh, fashionable affair. Soft sage green and cool dusty blue bloomed throughout the spaces and each detail was meticulously and exquisitely placed with brilliant juxtaposition: crystal Eventioneers chairs and Penn Rustics Rentals farmhouse tables; powder blue Lendable Linens linens and gold, geometric floral arrangements; a romantic sweetheart table and a bold custom Steel City Neon neon sign celebrating “Mr. & Mrs. Granda” secured to Marbella Event Furniture & Decor Rental boxwood hedges. Each guest was met at their table with a personalized name tag and sprig of sage – a sweet symbol of good luck! Friends and family danced the night away as Loyalty Weddings & Events electrified the dance floor. The couple offered a cigar bar so guests could venture to the gorgeous rooftop overlooking the city. About the Couple
Jade and Jason met in the restaurant industry in 2015 when Jade walked into the Melting Pot for an interview to be a server, and Jason was the one who hired her. Shortly after, they began dating in February 2016 (and that was Jade’s cue to leave the Melting Pot lol). Annually for their anniversary, they have dinner on Mt. Washington and they have never skipped a year. On their fifth anniversary, Jason proposed to Jade intimately at Altius. Afterwards, Jason had their closest friends waiting for them at their favorite local watering hole, Bigham Tavern, as a surprise.
About the Wedding
Jade knew she wanted a modern, chic venue that was a blank slate where she could bring her vision to life. Sage green and dusty blue are very popular spring colors, and also two of Jade’s favorites. The attention to detail was evident given that Jade is a wedding planner. Contrasting yet matching elements were seen throughout the space. Some examples of this include the satin bridesmaids dresses and satin cocktail table linens; different colored cocktail table linens; pops of blue in the bouquets to contrast the green bridesmaids dresses; large and small guest table centerpieces; large and small candles; and blue taper candles on the head table only.
Favorite Moment
As the bride, Jade’s favorite moment was their grand entrance into the reception hall as Mr. & Mrs. Granda, followed by her first dance with her new husband. As the wedding planner, she loved seeing it all finally come together as she envisioned!
