Today’s Seven Springs wedding is here to prove that Mother Nature knows best. The mountain resort holds a special place in Ashley and Patrick’s hearts, and one look at their outdoor ceremony space will be enough to win over yours. After a woodsy vow exchange, the newlyweds partied with friends and family in the Alpine Room. With natural elements, an abundance of fresh florals, rustic details, and the twinkle of string lights, the decor played off of the reception space’s built-in charm. A soft color palette of blush, champagne, sage, and navy allowed the shades of nature to come to life in a gorgeously simple way. Kraft paper menu cards, a burlap cookie table pennant banner, and wooden signs made by the mother of the bride rounded out the noteworthy pieces. To top off an already grand celebration, Ashley and Patrick had quite the send off thanks to tons of gold confetti (don’t worry…it was biodegradable!). About the Couple
Patrick and I met during our freshman year of college at a community service event! We became close at the end of freshman year and started dating that summer. After graduating college, we both got engineering jobs in the Pittsburgh area. We got an apartment and adopted a little kitty named Peanut. After about eight months, I got transferred to North Carolina. Patrick also found an awesome opportunity down there, which made our move meant to be! We started a brand new chapter in our lives but Pittsburgh will ALWAYS be our home!
After three months of living in N.C., Patrick took me to our favorite hiking spot, Hanging Rock. We hiked a new trail and ended up at a beautiful waterfall. He asked for someone to take a picture of us. As the friendly stranger went to take the picture, Patrick went down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was so magical and felt like it was only Patrick and me at that waterfall. It was truly perfect.
About the Wedding
When we found Seven Springs as an option for our wedding, we instantly fell in love. The outdoor ceremony location is absolutely beautiful and peaceful; we could just see ourselves getting married there! Seven Springs will always hold a special place in our hearts!
We really wanted to spotlight the natural beauty of the location, which led us to using greenery, eucalyptus, and blush flowers for our wedding. As soon as we saw the navy with the floral options, we fell in love with the natural look of it!! We really wanted to go for that rustic, simplistic, mountain-esque look! Our vision and ideas truly came to life and we honestly wouldn’t have been able to do it without our amazing vendors!
For our wedding exit, we decided to use gold biodegradable confetti that our guests threw in the air as we exited the reception area. It was SO MUCH FUN and made incredible pictures we will never forget!
Favorite Moment
My favorite part of our wedding day was seeing everything come together. Seeing all of your family and close friends you love so much all in the same place is such a special thing. As Patrick and I were holding hands during our ceremony, I looked around and saw everyone we loved in such a peaceful spot; everything was so right at that moment. Everyone looked so happy to be there. I never felt so grateful and blessed in my life. It is a memory I will never forget.
