Full of throwback vibes and a ton of romance, today’s wedding at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is sure to leave you with all.the.feels. Megan and Nick’s celebration combines vintage elements with luxurious florals and a feminine yet bold color palette. Soft blush pink met rich marsala for a striking contrast that just screams love. After saying I do al fresco style, the newlyweds and their guests dined under a clear top tent adorned with mood-setting bistro lights. A flawless blend of elevated centerpieces, white taper candles, and cross-back wooden chairs allowed for a distinctly chic yet casual style. Gold-rimmed vintage plates, a gilded mirror welcome sign, and antique window panes serving as a seating chart brought feelings of yesteryear while the bride’s Berta wedding dress from Bridal Beginning was anything but old-fashioned. All in all, this wedding was the sweetest mix of old and new as two hearts became one. About the Couple
I first met Megan without knowing I met her. It was my sophomore year of high school. I was at lacrosse practice and my creepy ex-girlfriend and a few of her friends were watching our practice from the adjacent track meet. A little while later, a pretty red haired girl from Greensburg sent me a message via Facebook. Being 16, this was big league. We talked for a good bit of the summer. Megan was busy at ballet summer intensive and I was away at the beach. Finally, we had time to make plans. By some grace of God, Megan was able to talk her mom into dropping her 16-year old daughter off at a stranger’s house 45 minutes away. When she hopped out of the car, there wasn’t even an awkward first few minutes. We clicked instantly. The rest is history.
About the Wedding
Our wedding is something that I have truly dreamed of from the moment I met Nick. If you ask anyone involved in our wedding planning process, I had a very distinct “vision” that I was determined to beautifully portray on our wedding day. I would describe the overall feel of our wedding as romantic. Gold-rimmed floral plates, hundreds of candles, lush floral arrangements, and velvet furniture all came together to make our wedding dreams come true. We wanted our wedding day to not only be about our endless love for each other, but the incredible love and support that we have from our families. With my uncle marrying us, our cousins and siblings filling the bridal party, and loved ones all around us, our wedding was a truly a celebrating of each other and our families.
Favorite Moment
As cliche as it sounds, my favorite part of the day was the moment I turned the corned and started walking down the aisle to Nick with my dad by my side. I was overwhelmed with excitement, and just as I was about to cry, my dad squeezed my hand and told me that everything was ok. Nick was exuding pure happiness, and for the first time in our relationship, I saw him cry. I will never, for as long as I live, forget that special moment.
