Questions To Ask When Booking Your Wedding Venue

by Burgh Brides February 27, 2025

Today’s mission is to tackle one of the biggest items on your wedding planning checklist: booking your wedding venue. Instead of spending countless hours visiting location after location only to discover it’s not the right fit, we recommend narrowing down your search first. This guide covers the essential questions to ask potential wedding venues so you can feel confident about every detail – from contracts to catering.

By now, you likely have a sense of your wedding day vision. Maybe you’ve decided on an indoor or outdoor ceremony, have an estimated guest count, and perhaps even a loose theme or aesthetic. With this foundation, it’s time to create a shortlist of your top venues and reach out – either by phone or by filling out the online request forms many venues provide on their website.

Not every question on our checklist will apply to every wedding, but it’s designed to guide you through all the unknowns and possibilities of wedding planning. It will help ensure that the venue aligns perfectly with your vision and provides everything you need to create an unforgettable celebration, with no detail left behind.

If you’re new here, don’t miss our other wedding planning guides! We’re all about turning even the most daunting to-dos into manageable, exciting steps toward your big day.
