A feminine color palette of ivory, blush pink, and gold brought a timeless and oh-so-pretty touch to Chris and Christa’s Bella Sera wedding. Christa walked down the aisle in a stunning Pronovias wedding dress from Bridal Beginning through vineyard-like archways that mimicked the Tuscan countryside. JL Makeup Studio & Beauty Boutique had the ladies looking flawless in their pink-toned dresses, while the men looked dapper in navy blue as they stood against the picturesque scenery. Before the couple danced the night away with music by Redford DJs, they enjoyed a candlelit dinner followed by wedding cake designed by the ever fabulous Bella Christie. You would never know this wedding day included a forecast of rain with these photos by Leeann Marie Photography. But that’s the power of having a talented photographer who can create magic behind the lens! Mother nature never stood a chance with this classic affair, and this wedding gallery is proof of just how beautiful it was!
About the Couple
We met at Penn State. Chris was on the hockey team with a kid I went to high school with. I was in a sorority and we had socials with the hockey team, so I would see him there and see him out at the bars. We were just friends!
I moved to Pittsburgh and Chris was living in Baltimore. I saw him out at Mario’s in Shadyside one night during the week. I was there with my roommates and he was in town. We started texting each other after that. He invited me to go to his best friend’s girlfriend’s birthday party with him. We went there together and ever since then, we started talking every day and seeing each other a lot. Then, we started dating.
Chris had a big proposal planned. My sister was in town and she told me that she wanted to go to PPG to skate around the tree. Chris and I have always wanted to skate around the tree and every year, something happens and we don’t get to, so it’s been an on-going joke. When we got down there, the line was so long. Chris said, “Well, let’s take a picture together in front of the tree.” We got together and my sister went to take the picture and he turned and got down on one knee. I couldn’t even believe it was happening; I was so surprised! He said the sweetest things, but I can’t remember because I was so shocked. After he proposed, we went across the street and my mom, dad, and brother were standing there with Chris’s parents. We all went to dinner to celebrate. The plan was to propose while we were ice skating but because the line was so long, it happened in front of the rink. We still have not skated around the tree!
About the Wedding
We always knew we wanted our ceremony to be outside and in summer. When we were looking at venues, we were looking for a place with an outdoor ceremony venue and a venue that was sort of similar to a winery. When we saw Bella Sera, it was exactly what we were looking for. They were about to be opening an outdoor garden and the Tuscan-inspired venue reminded us of a winery. I always knew I wanted my bridesmaids to be in blush. All the photos I have pinned were blush and gold inspired with the men in navy. I have always loved that look!
