Today’s Heinz History Center wedding has all of the makings of a blog-worthy feature – impeccable style, never-been-done before details, killer coverage from Rachel Rowland Photography and Dorosh Documentaries, and a couple so obviously head over heels for each other that their love lights up a room. Speaking of which, just wait until you see how this couple put their own spin on one of Pittsburgh’s most popular wedding venues. Inspired by the ribbon installation at the Children’s Museum, Jordan and Drew wanted a day that oozed joy. greenSinner and EF Lighting worked their magic to construct a ribbon canopy above the dance floor as well as a hanging backdrop behind the couple’s sweetheart table. K. Flowers Designs incorporated a similar pattern into the table numbers, menu cards, and other day-of stationery, while Alex Robba Cake worked the color scheme of peach, olive green, and sage into a three-tiered square cake that wowed. To play into the History Center’s vibes, Jordan and Drew created their own museum exhibits of sorts, displaying artifacts and mementos that documented their lives, both separately and together. From the live painting of the couple’s first dance by Live Painting PGH by Jaison & Stephanie to the late night pizza boxes decorated with their faces, Devoted To You Events made sure every picture-perfect detail was in place. And boy were there plenty of them. See for yourself!

About the Couple
Jordan and Drew first met in middle school while attending youth group at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church. Years of friendship, a pre-season Steelers game, and one three-hour hike later, they started dating September 19, 2016.
With the help of the friends they’ve made along the way and by the grace of God, they endured the trials of long distance when Jordan moved to Chicago to begin her career. They made the best of things with surprise visits, late night FaceTime calls, writing each other letters, and spending time traveling the world. These two years were filled with love, loss, hills, and valleys but the lessons that were learned during this time proved to be instrumental in how Jordan and Drew love each other better today.
After graduating from IUP in December 2019, Drew moved to Chicago to be with Jordan and to finally experience what it means to be dating in the same city. As timing would have it, they managed to be in the same zip code as the global pandemic escalated. They soon realized that even in the midst of all the chaos in the world, it wasn’t what they did or where they were. All that mattered was that being together was what it meant to truly be home.
As they continued to intentionally move towards next steps, Drew worked with Jordan’s family to surprise her in the Florida Keys at her parents’ beach house. On November 21, 2020 Jordan said “Yes!” After her partially guessing the day was coming and soon, Drew still surprised Jordan immensely.

About the Wedding
Our wedding can be described as city-chic-with-garden-boho-meets-playful-ribbon-coloring. We were attempting to get the best of all worlds! I feel like my personality is summed up as a paradox or a little bit of this and a little bit of that. My wedding felt that way. The industrial cocktail hour with the fun classic reception – everything all at once.
We wanted to do something with ribbon since the Children’s Museum’s ceiling exhibit is something I think is amazing. All of the details of our wedding is what made it unique.

Favorite Moment
From Drew…
Being in the church looking at each other in front of everyone, starting our marriage in the church we grew up in.
From Jordan…
The moment that I realized I was saying yes to the person I love unconditionally but also saying yes to a future that I cannot foresee. “In sickness and health” really got me in my feelings in front of everyone. Not because of sickness itself but because I don’t know what the future holds but I know it holds Drew and me together.
