Modeled after the spot where James popped the question, this Parisian inspired wedding at the LeMont c’est magnifique! After a few failed attempts in London, the groom finally slipped that (gorgeous sapphire) ring on Briana’s finger at the top of the Eiffel Tower, overlooking the city of love. Le swoon, right? To keep the romance alive, the pair weaved a subtle French theme throughout their wedding with the help of Shayla Hawkins Events. Foil invitations featuring the iconic Paris landmark, along with a Bella Christie four tier cake adorned with gold-trimmed sugar flowers and a hand-painted replica of the image from the stationery were highlights. Even the dessert display tiers were decorated with tiny locks, a nod to the well-known Paris practice. The class and sophistication of the French culture were personified by Briana, who looked like a dream in that ivory wedding dress and cathedral veil, both embroidered with gold thread. When you see these images from Kristen Wynn Photography, you’re definitely going to feel the amour.
About the Couple
James planned on proposing in London on our vacation. While there, I discovered that an old law school friend of mine was also in London. We decided to meet up with her and her mom. We planned on having dinner with them and then going on the London Eye to see the sights at night. James planned on proposing at that point. Well, at dinner, I drank a little wine and decided that I’d rather hang out with my friend then head to the London Eye. That was his first attempt. We planned on going to Buckingham Palace the next day with my friend and he thought he would propose there. He wanted to do it in the gardens but he couldn’t get me to pose with him for a picture to set it up. I only wanted to take pictures with my friend. That was attempt two. Attempt three was at St. James’s Park. There were a bunch of flowers that he thought would make for a good backdrop, but there was a small fence in front of them that I refused to step over. I thought we just weren’t allowed in that area. Attempt four was at the same park, where we saw that they prepared picnic lunches. James thought that would be romantic but I would rather go to a pub and have a cheeseburger. My friend and her mom were in on the secret the whole time and were ready to take pictures. It just didn’t happen!
The next day we were headed to Paris and when we got to the top of the Eiffel Tower, I guess he figured I had nowhere to go! So he proposed there. I didn’t say yes right away; I asked him if the ring was insured first. (I’m a lawyer so I think about these things.) So we took the theme of the Eiffel Tower and Paris and tried to incorporate that into the wedding.
About the Wedding
The theme was French/Eiffel Tower, based on our proposal location.
