Are you as in love with the Pantone Color of the Year as I am? Greenery is a shade that reminds me of spring – it’s fresh, organic, vibrant, and revitalizing. Pantones describe it as “symbolic of new beginnings” and what is more of a new beginning than a wedding? Celebrate the start of your new life with your new spouse (and maybe a new last name) by incorporating the color of greenery into your big day. Here are a few ways how!
Invitations & Stationery
Your wedding invites are one of the first glimpse guests will have of your big day’s style. Start off on the right foot by using greenery in your suite. Looking for designs that include fresh florals or foliage, like this Botanical Branches design from Pittsburgh’s own and Burgh Brides Vendor Guide member Fresh Cut Prints! Keep the look alive by using the same graphics throughout your wedding day paper – everything from menu cards to table numbers to favor tags.
Setting
When it comes to a venue, look for one that brings the outdoors inside. Think of an open feel with lots of natural light and fresh greens. Try Phipps or the Fox Chapel Golf Club! If you have your heart set on another reception location, you can still bring some greenery to your bridal portraits. Set out with your photographer to the prettiest hillside or landscape you can find!

Bridesmaids Dresses
While a dress in the greenery color might be a bit much, you can still work it in to your ladies’ look in a subtle way. Opt for a print, like the Jenny Yoo Floral Collection available at my favorite Bella Bridesmaids. This local Burgh Brides dressed her gals in this mod design from Anthropologie and they looked like a million bucks!

Florals
Flower lovers are in luck this year! One of the easiest ways to use greenery in your wedding day is with the florals. Of course, you can use foliage – think ferns, eucalyptus, and even oak, maple, or magnolia leaves – but there are also a TON of pretty blooms available. Green cymbidium orchids, hypericum berries, hellebore, bells of Ireland, green trick dianthus, lisianthus, and viburnum, just to name a few! Even the tips of snapdragons fit the bill! And don’t forget the cake!

Accessories
Can’t imagine greenery all over? Choose some accessories in this color for a more subtle way of working it into your wedding day. I love that this Burgh couple choose green socks for him and a green clutch and darling peep toes for her!

Decor
From vintage rental pieces to vignette backdrops, you can work greenery into the decor of your reception in numerous ways. It doesn’t get more perfect than the Emily settee from my friends at Vintage Alley Rentals, but you can also try linens or accessories, like the Moss Atlas tablecloth or Largo pillow from Event Source.
