A far cry from last year’s hot industrial look, the latest wedding trend is naturally chic. Take the rustic style, remove the mason jars and burlap, add a touch of sophistication and femininity, and what do you get? A light, airy, organic look that is sweeping wedding days across the country. As if Mother Nature herself designed it, the organic style infuses natural and soft elements to create an ambiance of dream-like romance. While most other trends fade fast, this look is timeless. If you’re looking for some beautiful ways to infuse this style into your own special day, look no further. Here are my ideas on how you can make the organic style work for you!
Venue
Lucky for you, this style is versatile! It can work in just about any venue, from a ballroom or tent to a museum or barn. That’s what makes it so special. It can be paired with the wooden beams or marble floors, chiavari chairs or barnwood tables. My personal preference is a space with lots of natural elements. Think wood, exposed brick, or other gritty, un-done aspects. The contrast is undeniably beautiful.

Colors
The perfect palette for this style is soft and light. You won’t find jewel tones or dark colors here. Instead, it’s all about pastels, ivory, white, and even gray. Muted tones keep the look minimal while still infusing healthy doses of beautiful, natural color. Think water colors and pale hues! Pantone’s 2016 Colors of the Year were literally made for this look!

Fabrics
Airy fabrics reign supreme with this trend. Choose flowy chiffon dresses for your bridesmaids (or let them go casual in tulle skirts!), opt for a lace gown for yourself, and dress up your tables with sheer organza overlays. Satin and other heavy fabrics just don’t fit in with this look.

Florals
Lush, voluminous flowers bring this look to life! Choose big blooms that have big impact. The result is an overflowing bouquet that’s oozing with beauty. For the reception, incorporate lots of greenery and even fresh herbs. A garland of greens down the center of the table, magnolia leaves with calligraphy names as escort cards, and even a sprig of fresh rosemary at every place setting – bring nature indoors by incorporating fresh anything wherever you can!

Hair & Makeup
Allow your natural beauty to shine on your wedding day. Save the smoky eye and winged liner for another time. Instead, keep it fresh and simple. Highlight your best feature and let the rest of your face breath. Hair is best when it’s carefree. Think big, loose waves or a messy up do. Top it off with the hottest accessory – a flower crown – and you’ll look and feel like a million bucks.

Décor
Use lots of natural textures. Wooden slabs, driftwood, and even fresh fruit and vegetables can act as decor and help this style come alive. Add a hint of sparkle with metallic pieces, mercury glass, and twinkle lights. Throw a sequin linen down to highlight the cake or sweetheart table. Fabric ceiling swags help to bring an airy feel to the space. And go overboard on the candlelight! Lots and lots of candles will make your space ooze with romance.

Paper
Stick with designs that incorporate classic designs with feminine fonts. Scrolls, scripts, and pastels on textured paper will set the tone for your naturally styled day. Stay away from anything too modern. Instead, stick with the classics. Floral prints fit right in here, and hand-lettering will give your paper the organic feel you’re striving for.
